Nytello - modern workwear
Professional workwear should withstand the challenges of everyday life and always deliver comfort and function. Nytello has been manufacturing workwear for over 80 years and our history and experience means that we can proudly provide our customers with the best workwear in both the kitchen and the hospital.
Our history
For tailor Ivar Johansson in Fritsla, function was more than a word - it was a principle. As early as 1938, when he started making clothes at Nya Textilfabriken, he took great care to choose fabrics that were both soft and comfortable, and to create models that followed the body's natural movements. The garments simply had to feel good to wear. His diligence and persistence were rewarded in 1955 when the factory was commissioned to make the so-called 'sister dress' for almost all nurses in Sweden. After a few tough years during the war, the factory was given a boost, and this first major garment in health and social care became the starting point for Nytello's long-term focus on workwear.
Over time, the demand for functional workwear grew in more professional areas. What began in health and social care developed naturally into workwear for the kitchen, cleaning, service and dental sectors, where the need for durable, comfortable and easy-care garments was just as great. The range also expanded to include outerwear and complementary products to create a whole that worked throughout the working day - whatever the environment.
Today, we continue to build on Ivar Johansson's original idea – but with a clear goal: to create workwear that strengthens both brands and people in their work. With a combination of design, smart features, and carefully selected materials, we develop garments that not only stand the test of time but also enhance the overall impression in any professional environment. By working closely with our customers, we tailor solutions that match their needs and identity, from fit and details to color and expression. The result is modern workwear with long durability. Nytello is about more than clothing; it's about creating security, pride, and recognition in every work task.
The way forward
When the company changed its name to Nytello AB in 1971, it marked a new phase in its development. The name reflected both innovation and pride in textile craftsmanship, while at the same time showing the direction forward - to continue creating workwear that combines function and comfort for more professional segments.
In 2021, Nytello was acquired by Ernst Alexis AB, creating a stronger joint platform with even broader experience in profile and workwear. Together we continue to develop garments that combine tradition, function and modern design

In our premises in Dalsjöfors, just outside Borås, you will find the range from both our brands - Ernst Alexis and Nytello - gathered under one roof. Here, our retailers can easily access our entire range, from promotional shirts and knitted sweaters to functional workwear.
